The Just Group 2021 Vulnerable Customer Awards is the UK's first and only awards scheme dedicated to recognising and showcasing business leadership, financial advice, paraplanner and support staff for excellence in supporting vulnerable customers.

In recent years, armed with the knowledge that everyone is at risk of being vulnerable, the financial advice community has sought to ensure vulnerable customers are recognised and supported with outcomes as good as those of other customers.

Just is at the forefront of helping financial advice firms with vulnerable customer policy design and implementation, visit this page for more information. We've seen the significant progress that has been made in supporting vulnerable clients and want to recognise your achievements in this area.

Could you be the first of the winners?

There are four prestigious award categories, each with a Winner and two Highly Commended awards:

  • Up Close and Personal recognises excellent support for clients who have been or are vulnerable
  • Data and Technology recognises innovative and/or effective use of data and technology to advance the customer vulnerability agenda
  • Company of the Year recognises outstanding progress within individual firms
  • Vulnerable Customer Champion recognises individuals who have gone the extra mile to mobilise the customer vulnerability agenda in their firm

Firms can enter as many of the categories as they like. In the fourth category, Vulnerable Customer Champion, you can nominate yourself and/or other colleagues.

The category Winners and Highly Commended awards will be announced in September.

Win a trophy and more...

All entries will be assessed and the winners selected by industry experts with highly regarded expertise in the fields of customer vulnerability, financial advice, compliance and customer service.

In each category, the winning and highly commended entries will receive a trophy and award logo to display, as well as the opportunity to benefit from publicity generated by the Awards.

Winning an award represents the opportunity to enhance the reputation of your firm amongst the financial services and wider business communities, with your clients and prospective clients, and to recognise your colleagues for their achievements in demonstrating leadership to support vulnerable clients.

Easy to enter

Each category has its own entry form. Just complete some basic details then provide the information requested, using up to 800 words, and email the form to VulnerabilityAwards@wearejust.co.uk by 5pm Friday 30 July 2021. Full details included on the entry form.

Why we're introducing the awards now

Just is at the forefront of helping financial advice firms with vulnerable customer policy design and implementation. For example, our Customer Vulnerability in Later Life online training module was identified by the FCA as an example of good practice that could help people improve their skills and capability, and has been used by almost 7,500 financial advisers, paraplanners and other colleagues, with numbers rising every day.

Following the FCA publication in February of 'Finalised guidance, FG21/1 Guidance for firms on the fair treatment of vulnerable customers' and with the significant progress that has been made in this area, Just want to recognise and showcase financial intermediary excellence in supporting vulnerable customers.
