Exploring the Solutions

This workshop is designed to complement the two previous events and round off the equity release advice process. We’ll concentrate on some related topics and the product solution process.

Packed with content, it’ll allow delegates, working in small groups, to develop a client case study through fact finding research and present solutions as though to a client.

Key learning outcomes:

  • Enhance your advice skills in the equity release market.
  • Recognise where equity release might be appropriate through robust fact finding and use of other tools and calculators.
  • Identify and recommend client specific solutions from the fact-finding information.

This interactive event allows you to qualify for 2.5 hours of CPD.

Please choose one of the six registration groups below. Attendee numbers are limited to 20 per group.

Care webinar - Who pays for long-term care? (27 May)
+
27 May

Who pays for long-term care?

The care system can be confusing and unclear when it comes to the divide between health care and social care. But who is responsible for providing and funding care for any particular individual?

In this webinar, our Care Specialist, Graham Duffy, will look at the responsibilities of the local authority and the NHS, while considering the process that should be followed for those with a care need.

For many clients, their assets mean they’re what is commonly called ‘self-funders’. We’ll therefore look at the different ways that care might be funded privately, the costs and benefits of each option and the suitability of these.

By attending this webinar, you’ll be able to:

  • Appreciate the divide between social and health care.
  • Outline the state and privately funded options for care funding.
  • Assess the suitability of options/products for self-funding care.

Join us on Thursday 27 May at 10:00 and gain 60 minutes of CPD.

Care Academy 3 - Taking it to the next level and developing your care business (1-10 June)
+
1-10 June

Taking it to the next level and developing your care business

In previous Care Academies we’ve considered the potential for advice in this market through various aspects. From state system funding, the ways to pay privately and suitability of options, through to duties of powers of attorney and potential issues of deliberate deprivation.

Having developed your knowledge in this subject, you need to consider how best to capitalise and make use of this to help potential clients and your business.

This three hour workshop will consider how the Society of Later Life Advisers (SOLLA) membership can help you enhance your standing with professional connections and consider other ways to develop your care business.

By attending this event, you'll be able to:

  • Identify what’s required to attain the Later Life Adviser accreditation (LLAA) and become a SOLLA member.
  • Explore the different sources of lead generation and business development.
  • Evaluate the process for dealing with enquiries.
  • Summarise how to establish the hard and soft facts for a potential client.
  • Assess the Immediate Care Plan product and its options.

This interactive event allows you to qualify for 3 hours of CPD.

Please choose one of the four registration groups below. Attendee numbers are limited to 30 per group.
